About Me
Welcome! I am Sarah - thanks for stopping by.
I’m a writer, advocate, and lifelong supporter of people navigating complex life challenges. I hold a Bachelor of Social Science and several postgraduate qualifications, including a Certificate IV in Workplace and Business Coaching. For more than 30 years, I have worked across the disability and care sector, supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult moments while also drawing deeply from my own lived experience as a parent and carer.
I have completed training in Journal Coaching, equipping me with skills in guided reflective writing practices that support emotional wellbeing, self-discovery, creativity, and personal growth. This work complements my broader focus on storytelling, lived experience, mental health, and identity, allowing me to support individuals in exploring their own stories through structured journalling and reflective writing techniques.
My work is grounded in a strong belief in the power of connection, storytelling, and reflection to support healing and wellbeing. I am passionate about mental health awareness and currently volunteer with Kintsugi Heroes, helping grow programs that empower seniors, carers, and people with lived experience through storytelling and shared connection.
Alongside my writing, I am exploring opportunities to facilitate storytelling workshops, journal coaching, and writing circles that encourage people to explore their own stories with honesty and compassion.
When I’m not writing, I love journalling, crafting, and spending meaningful time with my family and three dogs. My memoir is both a reflection of my own journey and an invitation for others to discover healing, resilience, and hope through the written word.
Here are some quotes taken from the foreword’s shared in my book;
“Stories have the power to change lives. This book is a courageous and deeply personal reflection of a mother navigating one of the most frightening moments a parent can face. It speaks honestly about fear, guilt, love, resilience and the search for meaning in the midst of uncertainty.”
- Ian Westmoreland OAM, Founder & CEO Kintsugi Heroes
“This book is for mothers and fathers. For writers, creatives, and storytellers. For helpers, healers, and space holders. For anyone who has known loss and love, grief and healing, suffering and peace. In other words, this book is for all of us living through the complexities of being human.”
- Nicole Annette, Founder & Educator, The Journal Coaching Co.
“The vulnerability Sarah shares is powerful and deeply connecting. This book is a true reflection of the love in her heart—for her son, for herself, and for anyone she may reach.”
- Heidi Swapp, Paper Crafter, Designer & Entrepreneur
